Broad-scale dissemination of renewable energy technologies can only be achieved when small and medium sized local enterprises can be convinced and enabled to a commercially viable engagement in RE. Building on experiences from earlier capacity development interventions, InWEnt (Capacity Building International) with their associated partners in the EU and the SADC region proactively set out to develop regionally based business advisory support, tailored to the needs of private sector practitioners. A two component approach has been developed: While one component concentrated on the supply side and provided business advisory for renewable energy system providers, the second component adopted a newly developed approach to strengthen the demand side.
